Verification guide: Submitting documents successfully

Verification is a key step on Doto—it protects your account, ensures secure withdrawals, and unlocks full access to trading. Most verifications are smooth, but if you’re facing issues, this guide will help you avoid delays and complete the process efficiently.


Upload Issues 📤

Common issues:

  • ❌ File won’t upload

  • ❌ “File too large” error

  • ❌ Format not supported

What to do:

✅ Use JPG, PNG, or PDF files

✅ Keep file size under 10MB

✅ Ensure the image is clear, not cropped, and well-lit


Document rejection — Why it happens📎

Frequent reasons:

  1. Missing or Incorrect Information

    • The document does not clearly show your full name, residential address, or issue date (must be within the last 3 months).

    • For fallback cases (when location cannot be confirmed), the address must also be visible and match your profile.

  2. Unacceptable Document Format

    • Edited, cropped, or digitally altered images are not accepted.

    • Black-and-white or low-quality scans may be declined.

    • If your document is inside a plastic sleeve or protector, remove it before taking a photo. If it’s laminated, just make sure there’s no glare when you take the picture

  3. Outdated Documents

    • Any document older than 3 months will not be valid.

    • However, identification documents such as an ID card, Green Book, or passport can still be accepted even if they were issued more than 3 months ago, as long as they remain valid and clearly legible.


Proof of address — Accepted documents 🏠

Proof of Address is no longer required for most users, your location is verified automatically via Geotag.


However, if the system cannot confirm your address, you’ll need to upload one of the following documents (issued within the last 3 months):

  • Utility bill (electricity, water, internet, gas)

  • Bank or credit card statement

  • Tax invoice or municipal bill

  • Government-issued letter

  • National ID with address (if eligible for geo-verification)

Other documents such as health insurance, purchase receipts... cannot be used as proof of address (POA).

⚠️ Important: The document must clearly show:

  • Your full name

  • Your residential address

  • The issue date


Tips for selfie verification 🤳

Sometimes, a selfie may be requested. To get it right:

  • Look directly into the camera

  • Avoid sunglasses, hats, or masks

  • Take the photo in a quiet, well-lit place


How long does it take? ⏱️

  • Identity check (basic verification): Usually takes a few minutes, but in some cases up to 1 working day.

  • Source of funds verification: May take 24 to 48 hours depending on deposit amount and documents required.
