SOF verification (Source of Funds)

Updated over 2 weeks ago

At Doto, we understand how important it is to access your funds without delays. Source of Funds (SoF) verification helps confirm that the money used for trading comes from legitimate sources.
This process is standard, fast, and ensures your account remains secure and compliant.

Don't worry; we'll walk you through the most common reasons and how to fix them quickly. Then, you can move forward with your trading.

🔐 When do we ask for verification?

Depending on your account activity, we might request some extra documents to keep your account secure and compliant. These requests are automatic and based on your total deposit amount:

  • From $2,000: You’ll need to fill out a short SoF declaration form.

  • From $5,000-$10,000: You’ll be asked to upload supporting documents, such as a bank statement or a payslip. The total amount varies from different countries.

These checks are part of our responsibility to keep your funds safe and the platform secure.

What's the difference?

Verification type

Purpose

Trigger

Account verification (KYC)

Confirms your identity and location

Required before first deposit

Source of Funds (SoF)

Confirms where your deposited money comes from

Required once total deposits reach $2,000 for a declaration, and between $5,000–$10,000 for document verification (depending on the country).

Special cases:

If your total deposits reach or exceed the limits set for your account level, the system will automatically trigger a Source of Funds review.

During this process, deposits may be temporarily on hold until verification is complete.

  • You might see a message before payment:

"We will ask for documents to verify your source of income.”

  • Once your documents are approved, your funds will be credited automatically.

By clicking "Go to payment," you accept that your funds were legally obtained.

Why do we ask for this verification?

At Doto, keeping your trading environment safe and transparent is our top priority. To meet international financial regulations, we verify that all deposited funds come from legitimate and verifiable sources. This process supports global anti–money laundering (AML) standards and helps protect both you and the wider trading community.

  • If additional documents are needed, your account’s trading permissions may be temporarily paused while we complete the review.

  • Once verification is approved, your account will be fully reactivated - allowing you to continue trading with confidence and security.

  • If the documents are not received within seven business days from your deposit request, your account will be closed and any remaining balance will be returned to the same payment source.

  • Are you withdrawing crypto? → You may need to verify your wallet ownership.
