Step-by-step guide to confirm your identity and access all platform features.

Doto requires all traders to complete a verification process to ensure user security and comply with international financial regulations (KYC - Know Your Customer).

Here's how to do it step-by-step.

Why is it necessary to verify your account?

Verification is a required step in Doto and comes with several benefits:

✅ Ensures the security of your account and funds.

✅ Complies with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.

✅ Enables key functions such as unrestricted deposits, withdrawals and trading.


When is verification requested?

Verification is requested when you reach certain limits on your account or when using specific payment methods.

  • Deposit with any amount for Card payments (in all countries) and Capitec Pay/Absa Pay requires completing the verification process.

  • Deposit limit for other payment methods without verification: $2,000

  • Withdrawal limit without verification: $1,000.

Once you reach these limits or use one of the listed payment methods, you’ll need to complete verification to continue depositing or withdrawing.


Steps to verify your Doto account

  • Log in and access verification

    • Visit Doto and log in to your account.

    • Go to the "Verification" section in the user profile.

  • Upload your ID document

    🔴 South African traders can only upload ID card, Passport and Green book.

  • Proof of address

Upload a document that proves your address, such as:

  • Utility bill (electricity, water, internet).

  • Bank statement.

  • Official letter from the government.

  • If your ID includes an address, you can upload the ID and pass geo-verification.

Must show your full name, address, and recent issue date (last 3 months).

  • Selfie for facial verification

    Doto can request a real-time photo to compare with your ID document.

    Follow the on-screen instructions and make sure the image is clear:

Tips & Tricks

Clear photo 🔍

You can upload a clear photo or scan of your original ID. Screenshots, electronic documents or copies of the document can not be accepted.

Recent photo ⏰

The photo or scan of your document should have been less than 2 weeks since you took it. We recommend taking the picture right before uploading it.

Original documents 📃

Please upload a photo or scan of your original document without any physical or digital editions.

Damage free ✅

  • Make sure your document is not scratched, stained, or torn.

  • All the corners of the document should be visible in the picture or scan.

  • Avoid taking the photo when glare is visible.


Processing time

🕐 Once all your documents are uploaded, the verification can take a few minutes. However, in some cases, processing may take one working day.

🕐 You will receive an email notification when your account is verified.


Common errors and how to fix them

Illegible document: Make sure you upload a clear, non-glare photo.

Expired document: Use a valid document.

Incorrect address: Proof of address must match the information in your account.
