MT4/MT5 trading issues

If you're facing issues while trading on MT4 or MT5, you’re not alone. Many traders come across problems like connection errors or trades not going through. Here's a simple guide with real examples to help you fix these issues fast.


🔌 Platform shows “No Connection” / “Waiting for update” / “Invalid Account”

What it means

The platform can’t connect to the trading server, or your login details don’t match the server.

📎Example:

  • You open MT4 and nothing loads, “No Connection” appears in the corner. The issue is usually incorrect server selection or unstable internet.

What to do:

  • ✅ Check your internet connection and restart MetaTrader.

  • ✅ Make sure you entered the correct account number, password, and server (from your Doto welcome email).

  • ✅ Re-login via File → Login to Trade Account.

  • ✅ Try switching to another Wi-Fi or mobile network.


❗ Trades not executing

What it means

Orders may be rejected due to low balance, wrong trade size, or markets being closed.

📎 Example:

  • “Not enough money” → trade size is too big for your balance.

  • Trading on Saturday → Forex markets are closed.

What to do

  • ✅Check your balance and reduce the lot size if needed.

  • ✅Confirm that you’re trading during market hours (Mon–Fri).

  • ✅Adjust your stop-loss or take-profit to meet required price distances.

  • ✅Try again after refreshing the chart or restarting the platform.


📉 Charts not updating / frozen / lagging

What it means:

Your chart is not receiving new data.

Prices keep jumping or the chart freezes, this often happens during fast markets or weak connections.

What to do

  • ✅Right-click the chart → Refresh (web/desktop).

  • ✅Close and reopen the affected chart.

  • ✅Restart your platform.

  • ✅Check your internet stability.


🧩 Indicators or Expert Advisors not working

What it means:

Expert Advisors or indicators are blocked or incorrectly installed.

What to do

  • ✅Ensure AutoTrading is allowed (top toolbar).

  • ✅Go to Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and enable all required permissions.

  • ✅Confirm the indicator/EA is correctly installed in the MQL4/5 folder.


🐢 Slow performance or platform freezing

What it means:

MetaTrader is overloaded or your device is running too many charts/tools.

What to do

  • Close unused charts and remove extra indicators.

  • Clear old logs via File → Open Data Folder → Logs.

  • Restart MetaTrader and update to the latest version.


Unable to place pending orders

What it means:
Your Stop Loss (SL), Take Profit (TP), or volume doesn’t meet platform requirements.

What to do

  • Check minimum/maximum lot size for the instrument.

  • Move SL/TP further away to meet pip distance requirements.
